Artist Statement

I’m a storyteller and illustrator.

 

My work runs the spectrum between horror and psychedelia, focusing on character design. I enjoy using bold contrasts in color and value with detailed lines and textures in my illustrations.

 

My tool of choice is Adobe Photoshop CS5, having liked the program’s versatility for some years now. I’ve also recently began using databending techniques in my work, adding a glitched aesthetic. This achieved by using Audacity or WordPad to deliberately corrupt images.

 

Childhood memories of cartoons and video games sparked my desire to tell stories. Impressionists and contemporaries further influencing my style, as I grew up. I look forward to refining and experimenting with what I learn - to more fruitfully communicate mine and others’ ideas.
